As February rolls in, so does the beginning of concert season. My first stop of the season starts with rising star, Maggie Lindemann, kicking off her I Feel Everything tour at Music Box in San Diego, CA. I have been a fan of Maggie’s music since 2020 after discovering her from a similar artist station on Apple music. Which made me very excited for the opportunity to document this show.
Before the show began, fans were waiting for Maggie outside the venue for hours in the rain. Showcasing her dedicated fanbase. When doors opened, fans rushed inside to get the best view of her. Within minutes, the venue was a full house, so packed that even the upstairs lounge was full of people.
When showtime came, Maggie entered the stage with a confidence that had fans screaming with passion. Maggie started out with “fang”, a new song off her second studio album I Feel Everything. The crowd did not disappoint, this was the first time they were hearing the song live, so they were singing and dancing along to every word. As the show went on Maggie made sure to connect with fans by locking eyes, smiling, and dancing around with them. Even when it came time to slow down the set with her ballads, her energy never wavered. She sang with such raw emotion, even falling to the ground and pouring her heart into the mic.
Maggie’s music showcases themes of heartbreak, personal struggles, mental health, and self-discovery. Something a lot of her fans can relate to. Which in turns makes for a great audience, as they were also singing their hearts out to the music being played.
The setlist consisted of all her new songs from I Feel Everything, as well as fan favorites such as, “She Knows It”, “Knife Under My Pillow” and “Crash and Burn”. Even with such a great set, Maggie had a huge surprise under her sleeve. A guest appearance by Siiickbrain to close the night out. Singing “Gaslight” and “Break Me” for the encore, fans even started a “mosh-pit” and left the night wanting more.
Maggie picked the perfect start to tour in San Diego, as fans set the bar high for the rest of tour. Their energy was something every artist wants from a crowd. The rest of her tour has big shoes to fill and this is something you don’t want to miss.
